Dr. Tanvi Haldipurkar is a distinguished ophthalmologist with over 14 years of dedicated experience in comprehensive eye care, cataract and refractive surgery, clinical excellence and academic leadership. Over the years, Dr. Tanvi has combined surgical expertise with a deep commitment to teaching, mentoring, and advancing the standards of ophthalmic education.
Currently serving as the Principal of Laxmi college of Optometry, Dr. Tanvi plays a pivotal role in shaping future optometrists through a vision focused on academic excellence, ethical practice, research orientation, and patient-centered care. Under her leadership, the institution aims to bridge clinical expertise with modern technological advancements in eye care education.
Dr. Tanvi strongly believes in creating an ecosystem that nurtures skilled, compassionate, and globally competent eye care professionals. Her vision for the college is to establish it as a centre of excellence in optometric education, fostering innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, community outreach, and evidence-based practice.
In addition to administrative leadership, Dr. Tanvi continues to actively contribute to ophthalmic practice, academic programs, surgical training, and professional development initiatives, inspiring students and colleagues alike through a balanced approach of clinical precision and humanistic care.
Dr. Monica Samant has done her fellowship training in general ophthalmology under Dr. Suhas Haldipurkar.
She did her fellowship in Paediatric, Squint and Neuro Ophthalmology from L. V. Prasad Eye Institute. She further did her research fellowship in the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She has addressed several conferences and has publications in national and international journals.
Currently Dr. Samant is associated with Laxmi Eye Institute as a consultant in Paediatric, Squint and Neuro Ophthalmology. She is the also the Academic in- charge at Laxmi College of Optometry.
Dr. Prafulla Samant is a dedicated healthcare professional with a strong track record of exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment in the medical industry. Recognized as a COVID Warrior, he played a pivotal role on the front lines during the pandemic, ensuring seamless hospital operations and high-quality patient care. Dr. Samant has served as a consultant and key member of the Management Team at Bhakti Vedanta Hospital, Mumbai, where he contributed significantly to strategic planning, clinical coordination, and system strengthening.
His experience also includes tenure at MGM Hospital, where he was responsible for operational oversight and the optimization of healthcare services. With extensive experience in both clinical and administrative roles, Dr. Samant combines medical expertise with strong operational acumen, driving efficiency, excellence, and patient-centered care in healthcare institutions.
Ms. Shraddha Kadam is a highly accomplished academician and clinical expert with over 16 years of rich experience in optometry, specialized contact lens practice, and clinical training. She completed her postgraduate studies at the prestigious Lotus College of Optometry, Mumbai, and is a recognized Fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators (FIACLE, Australia). Beyond teaching, she was part of the core team responsible for bringing the MUHS university affiliation to Laxmi College of Optometry.
She has been invited as a keynote speaker at numerous conferences. Her notable speaking portfolio includes delivering an oral presentation at the World Congress of Optometry (WCO) and presenting insightful talks at IACLE Educator Meetings. Her academic authority is further recognized through her frequent appointments as an external university examiner for various leading optometry colleges. Clinically, her proficiency spans advanced specialty contact lens fittings—including Scleral and Rose K lenses—and advanced dry eye management.
As Vice Principal, Shraddha’s vision is to elevate the institution’s academic and clinical standing by seamlessly bridging classroom education with advanced real-world practice and community impact.
Mr. Suraj Shelar is a faculty member and internship coordinator at Laxmi College of Optometry. He is currently pursuing a PhD after earning his Master of Optometry degree in 2023 from MGM School of Biomedical Sciences in Navi Mumbai. Prior to that, he obtained his Bachelor of Optometry degree from Dr. D. Y. Patil University, also in Navi Mumbai.
Mr. Suraj has gained five years of valuable clinical experience at Joint Vision Clinic. His research focuses on community eye care and comprehensive eye care. He is dedicated to advancing eye care through his academic pursuits and aims to make significant contributions to the field.
Mrs. Reshma Jalindar Kute is an experienced administrative and accounts professional currently working as Executive – Admin / Coordination & Accounts at Laxmi College of Optometry, Navi Mumbai since 2017. She holds M. Com degree from YCMOU, Nashik and possesses strong expertise in administration, university coordination, documentation, accounts management, and Tally ERP.With over 10 years of professional experience across educational, logistics, and cooperative sectors, she has developed excellent skills in record management, reporting, scheduling, student coordination, and office administration. She is also experienced in handling university correspondence, government coordination work, quotations, invoices, and scholarship-related activities.
Mrs. Reshma is known for her dedication, sincerity, organizational abilities, and efficient work management. She is committed to contributing positively towards institutional growth through her professional and systematic approach.
