Dr. Monica Samant has done her fellowship training in general ophthalmology under Dr. Suhas Haldipurkar.

She did her fellowship in Paediatric, Squint and Neuro Ophthalmology from L. V. Prasad Eye Institute. She further did her research fellowship in the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She has addressed several conferences and has publications in national and international journals.

Currently Dr. Samant is associated with Laxmi Eye Institute as a consultant in Paediatric, Squint and Neuro Ophthalmology. She is the also the Academic in- charge at Laxmi College of Optometry.


Ms. Supriya Patil is currently working as a faculty cum centre coordinator of Laxmi college of optometry, Panvel.

She is a post graduate and also holds her clinical fellowship degree from L V Prasad eye hospital ,Hyderabad .

She is associated with many renowned institutions as external faculty and examiner for more than a decade with her keen interest in subjects like Contact lens ,Low vision, Ocular diseases and community optometry. She has presented many papers in conferences . She also has an experience in diabetic retinopathy projects for artificial intelligence. She is one of the founding member of MOA ( Maharashtra Optometry Association ) and lifetime member of ASCO, IOA and IACLE.


Mrs. Sarita has completed her graduation from Lotus College of Optometry in 2009 and M Sc Optometry from Chitkara University, Chandigarh in 2015 and is a fellow of L. V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad.

Ms. Sarita is an Associate Member of ASCO and has also done FASCO in Clinical Optometry in 2015. She is skilled in refraction, orthoptic evaluation, ophthalmic evaluation and diagnostics and is visiting faculty in Laxmi College of optometry.

She has attended various optometry conferences and workshops on vision therapy, low vision and research & methodology. She is presently working as a clinical optometrist as well as Intern in charge in Laxmi eye Institute

Mr. Soumik Dey

Mr. Soumik Dey is a graduate in Optometry from NSHM Knowledge Campus, Durgapur. He then trained at the Aditya Jyot Eye Institute, Mumbai.

He has attended many training programs and conferences related to contact lens, low vision, and sports injuries and has presented scientific papers in AIOC and Vision 2020.

Mr. Dey has been associated with Laxmi Eye Institute since 2008. He is currently a clinical optometrist and his areas of interest are sports vision, paedriatic optometry and orthoptics. He is also a lecturer at Laxmi College of Optometry and heading the Low Vision Aids department.

Ms. Aysworya Mohapatra

Ms.Aysworya Mohapatra is currently working as Clinical Internship in charge cum Faculty at Laxmi College of Optometry, Panvel

She has completed her graduation from Dr , D.Y Patil Vidyapeeth Pune. She has pursued her clinical internship and fellowship from Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital Odisha and Chennai. She has worked with Lokmanya Multispecialty Hospital, Pune as clinical practitioner as well as counsellor. Contact Lens being her subject of interest she has worked as a Contact lens consultant at her previous practices. She has attended various conferences and training programs and has also presented papers at various scientific meets. She was awarded for excellent performance in All Odisha Optometry Conference quiz contest.

Due to her further interest in Community Optometry and Public health she is actively involved in organizing charity events like free eye screenings, eye and health awareness lectures for occasions like World Sight Day, World Optometry Day with Laxmi Charitable Trust Along with being a member she is also the project representative of Optometry Council of India from our institute.


Ms. Shruti Lad is currently working as a Tutor at Laxmi College of Optometry, Panvel and heading a Vision Therapy department at Laxmi Eye Institute, Panvel.

She acquired her Bachelor’s degree in Optometry from Lotus College of Optometry, and completed her long-term fellowship in Pediatric Optometry and Orthoptics at L.V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. She has also received training from Mr. Aditya Goyal at Vision Aid, Chennai. She has worked at Vision Therapy Department of Krishna eye centre, Dadar and has publication in National journal.

Her area of interest includes Pediatric Optometry, Vision Therapy, and Neuro-Optometry.


Ms. Anjana Gilbert is working as a faculty at Laxmi College of Optometry, Panvel. She completed post-graduation in Optometry (M.optom) from Vasan Eye Institute, Malappuram, Kerala (Bharathiar University).

She has worked as an Optometrist as well as tutor at Wavikar Eye Institute, Thane. She is skilled in subjective and objective refraction, Orthoptics evalution and handling optometric instruments.

She is a member of Optometry Council of India (OCI)
